 		    GOSPEL REPENTANCE      7/12/09       Zech 12:10-13:1


Truth: Gospel repentance always leads to salvation. There are three phases to gospel repentance. The supreme theme of gospel repentance is always Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

  1. THE PENITENT SINNER IS A MOURNER
    1. Is a great mourner on account of sin. Jonah 3:4-10
    2. Must mourn for himself. Luke 18:9-14
    3. Mourns as if for the lost of a child
    4. Is moved by the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38
    5. Looks to Christ for salvation. I Cor 2:2
  2. THE PENITENT SINNER PRAYS FOR PARDON AND CLEANSING
    1. Pardon from sin only comes from Christ Jesus. Acts 4:12
    2. Cleansing from sin comes from the blood of Christ
  3. THE PENITENT SINNER IS A SEEKER OF SALVATION
    1. The Holy Spirit reveals the knowledge of sin. Rom 3:20
    2. The Holy Spirit cuts the heart. 2 Cor 7:10
    3. The sinner seeks God. Acts 17:27, Luke 18:9-14
