 		  THANK GOD FOR MOTHERS           5/10/09
2 Tim 1:3-5

Truth: God chose to create us through a mother. Mothers, grandmothers, and other godly women are one of the great tools God uses to transform us into the likeness of His Son. Because of the influence of these godly women, we can go to heaven when we die. Where are you going?

MOTHERS TEACH US:
  1. WHERE WE CAME FROM?
    1. God created all mankind. Gen 1:27-28
    2. God created women
      1. For companionship for the man. Gen 2:18-24
      2. To have children. Gen. 1:28
  2. WHY WE ARE HERE?
    1. God created us to bring Him glory. Eph 3:21,2:10
    2. God uses mothers to point us to Him
      1. They teach us about salvation. 2 Tim 3:15
      2. They teach us from God’s Word. Deut 5:4-9
      3. They teach us how to follow God’s Spirit. Titus 2:3-5
  3. WHERE WE ARE GOING?
    1. Mothers and godly women teach us that God created us to have fellowship with Him forever
    2. They teach us that saved people go to be with the Lord. 2 Cor 5:8
    3. They teach us by living like they are on their way to heaven.
      1 Peter 3:1-6
  4. CONCLUSION: Thank God for mothers. God uses them and other godly ladies to help us get saved and be like Jesus. Because of their influence in our lives we can know we are on our way to heaven. Where are you going?
