            God, Our Help           January 25, 2009
(A picture of Biblical Faith)

I am moved by the reality and immediacy of Psalm 121. The psalmist is speaking from a perspective of conviction and full reliance on the Lord which is Biblical Faith!

Psalm 121

  1. GOD IS OUR HELP verses 1-2
    1. It is okay to ask for help; you need it
    2. When we learn who God is, we learn we can trust Him
    3. There is no other help
  2. GOD’S HELP IS SUFFICIENT verses 3-7
    1. He keeps us (Israel) when we cannot keep ourselves
    2. He helps and keeps regardless of our circumstance
    3. He desires to help us in ALL areas of our life
  3. GOD’S HELP IS ONGOING AND EVERLASTING verse 8
    1. There is a beginning
    2. There can be a renewal
    3. There is no end
I present Psalm 121 with these three thoughts:
  1. God is our help
  2. God’s help is sufficient
  3. God’s help is ongoing and everlasting

If we latch onto these 3 truths we will begin to live a life of Biblical faith. This is a part of ‘Continuing’ that our pastor has laid out for our yearly focus of Come, Connect, Continue, Contribute, to Count For Jesus!
